This notice explains how Chapterists Inc handles personal information when you visit chapterists.com, subscribe to Chapterists dispatches, or contact the studio through the details published on the site.
It does not govern customer or audience data handled inside Olvido. That information is covered by the agreement and data terms for the relevant Olvido workspace or project.

When you subscribe
The newsletter form asks for your first name, last name, and email address. It also contains an invisible spam-prevention field that legitimate visitors should leave empty.
When you contact Chapterists
Chapterists receives the information you choose to include in an email or other message, together with your contact details and the conversation that follows.
When you visit the site
Chapterists uses a self-hosted installation of Umami to understand how the site is used. It records information such as pages viewed, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, approximate country, and session timing. Umami does not set analytics cookies. An IP address is used to create an anonymous session identifier and approximate location, but Umami does not store the IP address itself.
Cloudflare also processes network and request information to deliver and protect the site and the newsletter endpoint.
Why the information is used
- Dispatches: to send the newsletter you asked to receive and manage your subscription.
- Messages: to respond to questions, requests, proposals, and potential working relationships.
- Site operation: to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and keep it secure.
- Site improvement: to understand which pages are useful and how visitors find the site.
- Legal obligations: to keep records or respond where the law requires it.
Where UK or European data protection law applies, Chapterists relies on consent for the newsletter, legitimate interests for operating and improving the site and responding to messages, steps requested before entering a contract where relevant, and legal obligations where required.
Who helps process it
- MailerLite stores the subscriber list and sends dispatches. Its privacy policy explains its own practices.
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers chapterists.com and the newsletter endpoint, and helps protect them from abuse. Its privacy policy explains its own practices.
- Umami provides the self-hosted analytics software. The analytics database is controlled by Chapterists rather than an advertising network.
Chapterists may also disclose information to professional advisers, service providers, or public authorities where reasonably necessary to operate the company, protect rights and security, complete a corporate transaction, or comply with law. Chapterists does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
International handling
Chapterists is a US company and works with providers that may process information in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, and other countries. Those providers describe their locations and transfer safeguards in their own legal notices and agreements.
How long information is kept
Newsletter details are kept while you remain subscribed. Correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for the conversation, working relationship, recordkeeping, or a legal requirement. Site analytics are kept while they remain useful for understanding and improving the site.
You can unsubscribe from dispatches at any time using the link in an email. You can also ask Chapterists to delete your subscriber details or correspondence, subject to any information that must be retained by law.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information Chapterists has about you, receive a copy, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or withdraw consent. You may also have the right to make a complaint to your local data protection authority.
Send a request to keepers@chapterists.com. Chapterists may need to confirm your identity before completing a request. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.
Browser privacy signals
The site does not currently change its analytics behavior in response to a browser Do Not Track signal. It does not use cross-site advertising trackers or sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising.
